Although atwoods famous dystopian novel has been made into both a 1990 movie starring robert duvall and a 2017 tv series starring elisabeth moss the novels extensive interior monologues of the protagonist offred make the novel a required read for the onlooker who wishes to delve into the complex thought processes of the protagonist
