Pros & Cons
Pros
This is a good gluten free cookbook for people who are avoiding gluten. The chocolate cake is to die for, the pasta guidance critical. It’s an essential book for celiacs. Thele books are amazing.
The flour blend recommended by atk is by far the best i've tried! The recipes are for replacements of existing recipes that normally contain gluten. Atk uses their own flour mixture upon which all their ingredients requiring flour is used.
The flour recipe is universal and i have used it in everything from cupcakes to cheese sauce. It's much more economical than buying any of the gf flour brands on the market. Best of all it uses ingredients i already have in my gf pantry.
Cons
Don't have a kindl? My recommendation is don't waste your money on this thing. They seem unnecessarily complicated and don't turn out well.
Gluten-free cookbook uses 80% white rice, potato starch, and tapioca starch. White rice flour is slow to absorb liquids and absorbs oil very poorly. There are gf pastas that are better and less expensive than those recommended by atk.
It seems to me that atk was just phoning it in with this book. The authors make many inaccurate statements. I expect a used book to be useable.

Came in good condition, some corners of the pages were bent but did not lower the quality of the book.
Competitiveness
Their gf flour blend is far superior to the store brands and is worth the effort.
Their recipe for and all purpose gf flour can be used for just about anything and is better than any gf flour i've purchased.
