Pros & Cons
Pros
Waxillium ladrian is robert oppenheimer in this novel. Wayne is always a breath of fresh air and i love the way he sees people, or sees into people. Wax's attitude and flip-flopping towards harmony and towards himself under harmony. Wayne, you gloriou... Read More
This closing novel to the mistborn 2nd era trilogy showcases brandon sanderson doing what he does best. Sanderson never disappoints.
This tetralogy is self contained, it follows on the first trilogy. The audiobook itself is good. The book evokes so much emotion.
There are hints of some brewing mystery that will likely be explored in the next series. From cold war era tensions and the development of nukes by splitting things the cosmere is forever changed. Tensions are high between elendel and the outer rims. ... Read More
My only * disappointment is that this was less “wild west’ than its 3 era 2 prequels. Harmony and marsh both have some issues going on that make me think there are some changes there as well. Between other cases they have been chasing the set still an... Read More
Cons
The female characters are so disdainful of wayne in particular that it's truly insufferable. Despite that he at times displays brilliant understanding of human psychology, the disparaging marks come continually about how inept he is.
Highlights
Quality
I feel like the 2024 release will be epic and very complex to keep the continuity flowing.
Gripping, emotional, page turner that really wraps up the wax and wayne era in a fantastic way.
Wax like an acquired taste and wayne, like a tumor.
*the final "rocket" solution was so completely ignored beforehand.
Price
Disclosure: i received an arc at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
I think i would make it less prices and amazon would have more books being bought.
I usually buy my books using my kindle as they tend to be cheaper and i don't have to wait for it to be delivered.
Packaging/appearance
The book arrived in perfect physical condition.
Competitiveness
There's more, but overall, when you put those up in comparison with what did work well and go right, there's so much more of that good.
My only niggling disappointment is that this was less “wild west” than its 3 era 2 prequels.
