Pros & Cons
Pros
Haidt argues that we tend to view the world through a particular moral lens, and that this can make it difficult to understand and empathize with those who hold different beliefs.
Some of the ideas are so multilayered, it can get complicated to keep track. He opts to explain the history of how concepts were introduced, researched and fought over by several authors along centuries. He also uses plenty of real-world examples and ... Read More
Haidt uses evolutionary theory as well as psych research data analysis to back up his concepts. He and others propose that helping others become more like us is like wanting all parts of our bodies to be the same.

Haidt doesn't acknowledge how systems of oppression shape people's attitudes. He uses sociobiology to make it seem as if it was *defeated* by attacks against its political incorrectness.
