I read in the acknowledgments that this story originally was not picked up by a traditional publisher and i cant help but wonder what they thought was missing

It only felt right to step outside and take a photo of this book by the water since the water is theme of the book

It’s a little morbid at times since sirens have to kill to feed the ocean who is personified as a deity but even as i grimaced at some of those parts underlying theme i was still sucked in
