Pros
The prose is much closer to sanderson's usual style, though this book is faster paced and more tightly focused on a single character. Sanderson creates worlds that are both wondrous and eminently believable.

All good books, and a very fun surprise. Lets the reader form an attachment later on. Regardless, a fun read.
The cinder king is a man with a burning ember in his heart keeping him alive. Opposite but somehow entwined to reflect true humanity with the ultimate sacrifice of love.
Cons
Nomad's companion, aux, is just plain irritating. It's that dreaded feeling of wanting to glance at the book’s progress.

The worldbuilding is incredible, the people are complex and the heroes are always broken.
