This was purchased for my 18 month old granddaughter. Bought it for a baby shower present. It is her favorite book now and worth owning as it will be read repeatedly.
Helps teach counting, fruits, passage of time and the life cycle of the butterfly. I also use this book and others to teach students to paint and cut the way carle does.
This book is perfect for the oversized book format. Our toddler loves this oversized book and plush. My baby was captivated by the bright pictures and the caterpillar companion that came with the giant book.

The holes were large and i would have thought the stuffed animal, which came with the book, would easily go through the holes.
The caterpillar that comes with the book fits through the holes in the fruit and makes story time so much more fun.

My problem was with the holes cut out of the items the caterpillar eats throughout the book

From what i can tell buying this item new is the only way to go if you want the stuffed caterpillar with it

All the sellers i contacted here and on ebay about buying it used said the stuffed caterpillar was not included
