Haven't read the prequel book yet. I'm excited to see how the trilogy ends.

It is truly something you should experience organically as you read the book. This is really good. Well worth the time. Keeps you on your toes.

Follow up seems to have taken a massive nose dive in quality. It's almost as though neither of them really read the whole thing through after the first draft was done. Now they're so solemn it's barely tolerable to read.

Vin is riddled with guilt. Vin also has terrible 'tacked on' femininity. The pauper to prince makeover we're getting from both vin and eland is really tiresome.

Zane was horribly wasted potential. Elend fails to find the people sabotaging his city, and fails to prevent himself from being ousted from power.
