They’re good for layering but you don’t have to if it’s not that cold out (wore mean with a trench coat) and they look solid.
The functionality of this works, i'm a crossing guard and it's been brutal outside.

They are silky soft fitted but not tight and suffocating

I put my black slacks over them to see if i felt like it was too suffocating but they were super cozy

It was tapered enough on the bottom half of the shirt so that air does not enter but still not tight against the skin and left room for stomach area
