Pros

I am sufficiently savvy to back up this way to defeat c r y p t o l * e r malware.

Fans are 80x80x15 and are sleeve bearings. Also the two fans are much quieter than my the units from other mfg and they have much smaller fans.

Anyone needing and external hard drive should put their own kit togther. Easy to install a drive. Works well with 2t hybrid drive.

The fans are audible, but very quiet. This is by no means a deal breaker, but they are not silent. It is quiet enough that i hear the drive spinning over the fan.

Cons

The unit functions normally until the drive idles. This is beyond frustrating and their support is non-existent. And as others reported it seems flimsy.

Quiet fans that move some air, nice led lighting, sturdy and solid construction, secures the drive well, excellent data transfer rates.
