The gap between the lid and the gasket is too narrow for a sponge to reach and give it a good scrub.

It says not to use it with food that spoils. Probably lots of soaking. Did not keep food hot at all. Food was barely lukewarm after 4 hours.

Now i'm stuck figuring out whether it's worth returning.

Don't get this. Please be warned. At best, it's okay. Not recommended. After as little as 4. It is very costly too.
