So you presoak your lentils overnight boil your lentils in big pot not this one skim off the scum till there is none left and let it boil for at least half hour or so to get them properly heated up

For tough lentils like split pea if not cooked fully pop inner pot back on stove bring to a boil for 5 mins and a low simmer for 5 more to kill any overnight bacteria then pop back into orange pot
