Pros

Mochi is so good, that i must force myself to use restraint so that i am not gaining weight! It makes good rice cakes. And, can start a fire. Keeps you from having to have burned hands or have to deal with the very hot mochi.

For niche machine is steep, but if you love fresh mochi then you owe it to yourself to get this. It is important to emphasize that the machine should not be left unattended.

The mochi cutter comes in a tiger corporation retail box. It has a us outlet plus the us instruction.

Make sure to starch it well before dumping your mochi in it. I vacuum seal the leftover mocho and freeze it in my chest freezer and it was still good even after storing it for 1 year.

Cons

Main complaint is the steam resevoir gasket. It gives a slight, but chemically taste to the rice, and if you lick the bottom of the impeller it tastes like the rubber gasket (yea.

Soak "sweet rice" overnight (at least 12 hours) and then drain for 30 minutes.

I do not know how this metal inner pot will react to the dishwasher and the heat bake of drying.

Price

It's expensive, but this machine is 100% worth it.

I definitely recommend getting the mochi cutter if you can afford it along with the machine.

I begged my mom to buy an omochi machine so we could have it all the time, but she always said "they're too expensive" (and they were/are).

I wish it didn't have to be so expensive.

Shipping

Delivery was faster than i had expected, definitely a plus!

This rice maker arrived in a timely manner.

I like that it was delivered in a timely fashion.

Packaging/appearance

Mochi maker came in a double box and was un-damaged when received.

Competitiveness

Tiger corporation also make a companion mochi cutter for this machine.

I recommend it, less expensive than the zojirushi, and it works great.

We bought this unit to replace our 40 old mochi maker we purchase from japan.

Below at the bottom of the review, i have listed the electricity voltage of different countries.
