I've only used this a few times but am pretty happy with it.
Made in japan, so you know you are getting a quality product.
I'm still experimenting with the right times, it does take quite a few minutes to get hot enough to steam.
Packaging/appearance
All the components were in original, un-opened packaging, but main box had been opened and resealed.
Competitiveness
It makes great rice - as it should - way better than a regular steamer.
Good but takes longer than older round model.

For one thing the steam cycle only allows me to set increments of 5 minutes

You also have to scoop the food out of the steamer basket when done as theres no safe way to remove the steaming basket when its hot

They also tell you not to let the water run dry but with the steamer basket in place you cant see how much water is left and you cant remove the basket to find out
