Pros & Cons
Pros
The rice has a noticeably better flavor in this setting. The rice that comes out of my ih tiger rice cooker is so much tastier than any other type of rice cooker. Price at $350 some is expensive, but should not be a deal breaker if you eat rice every ... Read More
There was no visible cosmetic defects (even though in the description it was said there was a slight cosmetic imperfection) the rice is ready when it's done. Some dimples were easily and gently massaged out.
The tiger's removable venting cap and lid allows you to easily clean the entire top of the rice cooker. The lid, steam vent and the inner plate are all detachable for easy cleaning.
The cooking bowl is heavy and it has the black coating which looks just like regular teflon coating. The spatula is supposed to fit perfectly in the little holder on the side of the cooker. Unlike the zo cooking pot, this pot is not easily scratched, ... Read More
Cons
This is what’s wrong about japanese appliance and electronic, even if says made in japan, the quality of the product is always lower. Sadly, few months ago my jasmine rice was overcooked at the bottom and mushy on top.
Highlights
Quality
Wife has never been happier with the product pricey but worth the value.
Overall, i'm quite pleased with the cooker.
I will give the product 5 stars and give amazon's delivery a 1 star.
I agree with the comment about the recipes book and i didn't like it.
Price
The price is a little pricier than others, but it worths every penny.
The product is good, though the price is more expensive than the one in costoco.
A replacement inner pan costs $110, which it’s pricey in my opinion.
I found price dropped $40 after my purchase.
Shipping
This is great, love it, fast shipping
It is a lot more costly to them to have the cooker damaged during the shipping.
It was never meant as a shipping box.
This time ups probably was a bit more careful in its shipping and it arrived in better shape.
Packaging/appearance
Amazon should really try to improve its shipment packaging of this cooker.
Competitiveness
I bought this to replace my zojirushi rice cooker i bought 5 years ago.
We have used other rice cookers in the past but this one is much better than the cheaper models we used.
My previous rice cooker was a zojirushi ns-rpc10 fj tulip 10 cup.
I was deciding between zojirushi, tiger, and the cuckoo brand.
