I dont know if polypropylene plastic leaches when it comes in contact with hot liquids but at least it isnt well know for doing so like polycarbonatebpa and ive read at least one product ad claiming that polypropylene doesnt leach

My only other concern is that i end up pushing against the pour the liquid level to remove the lid as the lower handle is part of the body not the lid

Do not wash only wipe the outer container and the inner stopper

I bought this item because they are used in a local restaurant

I filled it with boiling water and put it aside while i went out to rake leaves and the water was still hot when i returned an hour later

I should mention that before you pour in hot coffee you should pour hot water in the carafe and let it sit closed for two minutes and then pour the hot water out as directed in the instructions
