Pros & Cons
Pros
The timbuktu backpack is light, strong, snug and thinner than i thought it would be. The quality and colour is gorgeous! Seems sturdy, and quality. Seems good. Durability is the best word.
This backpack evenly distributes weight across my back, which is greatly appreciated as a tall guy. This pack is just right for fitting under the seat in front of you, if all the overheads are full of carryons that are a couple of microns short of the... Read More
The straps are comfortable even with this load and it feels balanced. It sits snuggly on my body when i wear it. Back padding is comfy. Easy to adjust the straps.
Cons
The materials used for this bag are high quality, but the bag just misses the mark. The one major problem with owning it is, less than 6 months of light use the bottom of the bag is falling apart. Not worth the money for such an uninspiring design.
Light reflectors are on the front, bottom of the back. Not easy to adjust shoulder straps. Bottom strap is just silly.
Too much padding for the computer. It just has two in the frontmost major pouch, and two on the front. The bottle holder is a joke. Just isn't usable as is, unless you carry a water bottle for ants.
Highlights
Quality
Plenty of admin pockets, built quality is top.
Very durable and very comfortable even when loaded down with multiple laptops.
After much research i picked this timbuk2 bag and have been blown away by the quality construction and materials.
Did a ton of analysis-paralysis over many months, before finally pulling the trigger on the timbuk2.
Price
But you do get what you pay for.
I don't know that i would buy more than one of these (or one in the future) at this price point.
Competitiveness
Nyt wirecutter rated this one of the best backpacks and i agree.
Secures his laptop better than any other backpack he's had before.
I was considering this and a north face borealis bag, and this was a a much better bag, despite being a bit more expensive.
