I personally wouldnt feel comfortable riding in the rain while carrying a laptop without there being some sort of extra water protection like a bag covering it although that is just me it might be fine

At the store i noted that the other models had a thick cordura® fabric on the front and flap with tpu lined backing for water resistance like on the other famous timbuk2 messenger bags but had some nyloncordura® sidesdepending on color scheme that was not really waterproof at all
