This new improved version is just that new and improved. Uses a vented speaker, making a much cleaner sound. A very nice clock/radio & a very nice price.

Getting the time set was simple. Volume ramps up to preset value when alarm goes off. The adjustable brightness, high, medium, low and off is a great feature.

The instructions are unclear and the * do not work to set most features. Nothing is intuitive about how to set the time or find a radio station. There is no snooze button.

Alarm clock is ineffective for heavy sleepers. When the alarm goes off, the sound gets increasingly louder to an annoying level. Has a button on the back to switch alarm to louder but it is not very loud.
