It's not that the glow is broken but it functionally does not have the ability to glow. Maybe the reason it's so inexpensive is they're selling old stock.

Gave this to my 9 year old granddaughter for her birthday and she was so happy when she opened the box!
The watch box arrived in poor condition.
The seller should have placed the item in a small box to protect the watch box from being squished during transport.
The packaging was a little flimsy, so i simply put it in a nicer box for her gift.
