Pros & Cons
Pros
This tool is clutch! Suddenly became a 3 day ordeal. Worked like a champ.
Used to remove engine studs from a ‘57 vw. Heated surrounding exhaust manifold area and have been putting penetrating oil on for weeks in advance.
Heavy duty and worked great. Great to avoid drilling broken studs. Seems very durable and solid.
To remove the stud, place the black part in a vice, and rotate the chrome hex with a large adjustable wrench. If hard to loosen stud, pro tip:get a breaker bar and a tapered pipe wrench.
Cons
It * on but the minute i tighten it it slips off of the bolt it's like it's not biting into it. I'm able to tighten down the jaws of the tool around the stud, but the tool will not grab on to the jaws.
Highlights
Quality
Steel stud is oem and has been in cast iron for 52 years)
Solid, quality tool that takes stubborn studs out with minimal effort if used with an impact wrench.
Enough to completely snap off seized hardened exhaust studs i was attempting to extract.
It gripped the chewed up stud and broke it loose.
Price
This is a good value and i'm very happy i held on to.
Love this product, the best $20 i ever spent.
I would have gladly paid twice the amount knowing how awesome it is.
Shipping
I ordered this tool arrived exactly on time.
A day after it arrived i put it to use and had success.
I could not find it locally, but amazon came through.
