The cable boxs out port is hdmi and we plugged the dvi to video in

The trick in my case was to make sure the the input selection on each monitor itself was correct

For whatever reason these cables were not plug and play

Likewise for the monitor using the dvi plug on the monitor input make sure it is selected for dvi
