I was able to get it started with a few dry twigs a crumpled piece of newspaper and some dryer lint

I added larger dry sticks about 12 to 34 inch thick and 45 inches long was able to boil water within 3 minutes then added dehydrated apples raisins and eventually some sugar cinnamon vanilla and thickened it with a bit of cornstarch and voila

Using wood you get lots of soot but you get nice even low heat for baking camp oven aluminum foil covered fry pan
