There is no real axle for the wheels, you screw a plate to each side and then tighten down a nut on the stud sticking out!
It picks up large bolts and small nails and these are easily released from the magnet just by pulling the release.

Definitely worth every penny versus a visit to the doctor or er.
I know the magnet is expensive, but it is worth every penny to not worry about accidents after roof work.
It’s a good deal for the money, and you will have it forever.
For the cost of a popular 18" rolling magnet, i got this 36".
