Really pleased with topping and their support and the product.
Same quality and ease of use as the d50 but with considerable updates and improvements.
Wanting a better solution i bought a naim nd5 xs2 - £2500 of streamer/dac and the sound quality was just lovely.

I suspect anyone interested in this dac has read internet reviws which concentrate on electronic tests.

I had a home demo of the chord qutest and liked the filters but paying over £1000 for what was in effect a ‘graphic equaliser’ didn’t seem value for money

I thought it would be like the chord with the different settings giving a radical difference in sound but they don’t too my ears

I started off with a yamaha streamer into a rega dac which sounded very nice but the yamaha app is awful

The biggest issue though was that it did not treat my local library and the streaming services as one seamless thing

To integrate the whole experience further i invested in roon and hence was using the roon app to run the show and this opened the interesting possibility of ditching the naim and freeing some money up from it by running a raspberry pi as a roon bridge using ropieee and feeding another dac

Having read various reviews and looking at various price points the topping d50s looked to tick all the boxes so got one ordered

Decent quality connectors and overall none of the feel of early chinese attempts at manufacturing when youre never quite sure whether the whole thing is going to just fall apart
