Its been about 4 years since i used my last desktop though and although i have some extra monitors laying around its not very convenient to pull one out plug it into the wall and then hook it up via the vga port to my laptop

Plus im usually using my laptop on the go or in bed or on the couch so even though ive always wanted some extra screen realestate it wasnt practical with my laptop

This toshiba though is a fullsized monitor thats got even more screen real estate than my 13

Although my vaio has 3 usb ports i use one for a wireless mouse and one is usually connected to my phone so i was concerned that i would have to disconnect a device

Luckily the screen only needs to be connected to one port and it works great

I didnt even have to use the included driver cd

I just plugged the monitor in and windows 7 found the proper drivers and installed everything and within 10 minutes the screen turned on and i could see my desktop wallpaper on it and drag stuff over to the separate screen
