For a few pence more the cable would have made the canvio partner easier to situate on a risefall desk

As it is one end of the cable has a standard usb plug but the one going into the toshiba is a special connector

However it needs a stable connection so using a highquality usb socket or docking station is essential

Initially i plugged it into a cheaper usb port station which caused connection errors and disconnections

At first i thought the hard drive wasn’t working as when i put it into my laptop the small blue light would turn on and it would make a low humming noise and then the humming noise stopped as well as the blue light turned off

I worried that it had either disconnected or completely stopped working mid way but luckily this wasn’t the case it has been working fine

Nevertheless it’s been alright and very straight forward to use only dissapointing thing was that when you check to see your full storage capacity which should be 1 terabyte as advertised the total storage the hard drive acctaully holds is 931 gb
