Pros

I am super pleased with this purchase and love how easy it is to use. Had to get this for my daughter for college. But for now, this drive is a winner.

Easy to use and lightweight. Comes with a usb-a (older style) too. 4tb. usb-c & usb 3.

Cons

Piece of garbage. Total piece of junk. Very disappointed. But not anymore.

It spins and spins and refuses to load. Then once done, it crashes/dies and bricks out within 3 days at most. The warranty process is such a nightmare.

Toshiba's ssd drive is slow and can't be used as a portable backup. It's better to buy a solid state drive and use a usb stick instead.

Tried rebooting in safe mode, uninstalling old apps, removing login items, replacing usb hub. Got message that the finder is still using the drive and i might lose data if i force eject. Was thankfully able to erase the volume and am returning this ga... Read More

I had wd drives previously and they all (3 of them) failed.

In reality, it took 5 hours to copy 52 gb data off my old wd drive.

Price

At ~ $25/tb, i'm quite happy with this external hard drive.

Type-c was the buying point for this and coupled with the price, it was lovely.

You won't find anything cheaper than this.

A bit slow, but good for the price at the time.
