Pros

The drive is 4tb, but available space is 3. Gb of available space. One for data, and the other for power. To be able to buy 4tb of storage at this price and physical footprint was fantasy back then. Time machine to do continuous back ups is great.

Right out of the box attaching to my macbookair was a snap. Connects to ipad, camera and tablet seemlessly. Got it as a external for series s xbox. Purchased to expand the storage on my imac.

This fits the bill. Works like a dream - that is, works like it should. No problem.

Cons

Do not buy. Piece of garbage. Total piece of junk.

Used this infrequently as a backup drive for a mac. It is much better to purchase a solid state ssd for backups since there are no moving parts to fail if bumped or dropped. This thing is super slow. Less than 100 mb/s.

I had wd drives previously and they all (3 of them) failed.

In reality, it took 5 hours to copy 52 gb data off my old wd drive.

Price

At ~ $25/tb, i'm quite happy with this external hard drive.

Type-c was the buying point for this and coupled with the price, it was lovely.

You won't find anything cheaper than this.

A bit slow, but good for the price at the time.
