Pros & Cons
Pros
This microwave/convection combo is now my favorite. The convection only goes to 425f, and takes a surprising amount of time to preheat, but also cooks well. It has worked flawlessly for over 2 years.
It is bigger (deeper) than our last one, but we can put in the same spot. The interior is very shiny stainless steel. It's easy to keep clean and it won't break down or discolor over time.
Cons
The designers are not bright if they think the best turntable attachment is one with over 1/2 of play that let's things rattle and bump loudly. It's really disappointing because it was a very versatile microwave with reliable performance up to now.
The oven mode takes way too long to heat up and due to too many holes in this unit the heatscapes a lot. It emits a terrible noise, and gets so hot, you cannot even touch the countertop. Made a loud sound at the end of microwaving popcorn.
Highlights
Quality
Quality seems on-par with toshiba’s standards and it’s intuitively designed user interface makes it simple to use.
Toshiba products are the best and indestructible
1st one i got worked great didn't last long open door button broke couldn't fix it
- it takes 15 seconds longer to boil 1 cup of water, compared to my other microwave of equivalent power.
Price
The stainless interior is a little hard to clean but all in all a great product for a great price.
Keeps cost down by not launching the big oven for small bakes.
Disclaimer: i did buy this item used from amazon warehouse for a significant discount.
Packaging/appearance
But, so far my observations are:* very well packaged.
Competitiveness
Not only is it highly rated, but also much better priced than the kitchenaid.
I only docked one star due to the fact that toshiba, which is a reputable japanese company, decided to manufacture these in china.
The panasonic feels 'tinny' compared to the toshiba.
I like the handle on the toshiba a lot better.
