Pros & Cons
Pros
Toshiba encore 2 write writes super smoothly with no lag except when selecting large areas of text/writing in onenote. Full pdf user manual is easily downloaded to the machine with a few clicks. Truenote app works smoothly with the pen and well organi... Read More
It has better parallax shift and edge accuracy than the professional digitizers. The active stylus is accurate and has a nice feel (not slippery on glass, like other pens) the only problem i have with this tablet is the way the tether attaches to the ... Read More
It has different settings for taking pictures of whiteboards, blackboards, and powerpoints. The camera works well and is very fancy, with the ability to do panoramic photos. The images on screen are crisp and vivid.
I love how the tablet has a built-in nesting place for the tablet. I also love that the machine does not come stacked up with bloatware. Came up running right out of the box and performs well.
Win10 version is generally harder to use and enjoy seamlessly. If you are already a windows user and know how to configure a windows 8 system out of the box this should be easy for you.
Cons
Toshiba advertises this as windows 10 compatible. Claims of windows 10 incompatibility are false. Truapps are toshiba programs, as proven earlier in this complaint.
Highlights
Quality
I'm used to the dell venue pro 8, which has amazing build quality (imho).
Truenote app works smoothly with the pen and well organized, it's nearly perfect for taking notes.
This is normal for wacom tablets, but its quite bad with the vivotab note 8.
The sensitivity for the pen is what you'd expect from a wacom product.
Packaging/appearance
99% of the time it's fine but sometimes i have to press it multiple times to turn on the screen.
The encore comes with shiny and slick glass right out of the box.
1 works on this tablet, because minutes out of the box it upgraded semi automatically to windows 10.
Competitiveness
I have a cintiq, several penabled tablet pcs and i also have ipads with lots of styluses.
The toshiba set-up/wireless hookup was a snap - upgrading to windows 10 took some time, without issues (seamless) - wow!
A matte screen protector can induce a little friction and a more paper-like feel.
As far as i can tell, there's not a lot of competition for a device like this for artists.

Look into getting a soft case for it or getting a screen protector
