The rings on the work bowls add stability if you are whisking or mixing. The loop on these is for your thumb. Makes it easy to grasp the bowl while whisking vigorously. If your fingers are big, the rings are easier to grip.

Lids are opaque polypropylene, which is among the safest and most durable materials for the kitchen. Lids fit snugly and won't let stuff spill or drip. The lids are especially useful for keeping left overs in the fridge.

They still look as good as new after probably close to a thousand uses. The value is hard to beat and probably better than sets costing multiple times more. Still not issues with coating break down mentioned in other reviews.

These stand up to serious home kitchen use without a hitch. In my small kitchen it is imperative to hang as many pots and utensils as i can. Only downside is they cannot go in microwave.

I do however, wish it looked more securely melded on. One thing to note is that the photo shows the color to have a bit of a bluish tint.

Food collects in the seam and the raised seam catches the whisk. While that corrugation likely makes the bowl strong as heck, it makes it worthless as a mixing bowl.
