Pros

It works good. There is no fan so it is perfectly quiet. Nothing complicated about this thing. What’s most important to me is customer service.

Saves me the hassle of running new ethernet cables. Uses actively requested power so it's completely safe to plug in non poe devices. Works well for installing small ethernet powered devices on my home network.

Cons

The amethernet is a total ametaur garbage. Can't handle (4) 3 megapixel hikvisions connected to poe at the same time. Other two have intermittent connectivity issues with the switch going up and down.

When they finally say my switch is faulty, they tell me i have to pick a shipping option. Switches are dead on arrival.

Buyer beware. Will steer clear of tp-link products in the future. Save your time and save your money and a ton of headaches.

Used in my house for hardwiring multiple printers and game consoles with no issues for about a year now

Nice quality, metal housing 5 port gigabit switch.

I had an sg1008pe for a couple of years and in the last few weeks it was not able to keep up with the load.

I don't expect my switches to work forever as i have them installed in the attic and i live in a hot environment.

Price

It's reasonable priced and have no issues with it.

This little switch has worked great and for the price is just perfect for certain use cases!

I bought this because it was cheap and worked well.

Competitiveness

There are similarly priced devices that support 1ghz ethernet out there but they are typically plastic where this is metal construction.

I have not found a better value.
