So it was a good solution for this network and worth the price.

I now have full strength internet downstairs that just as fast as upstairs near the main modem.

This was the kitchen are as it had pipes and water and the design of the area so whichever side the router was on that area would have coverage but always the kitchen would block the signal

The best solution would have been to run cat6 or whatever versiion of ethernet cable you thought appropriate and run hard wire using existing wall plates no longer used for coax or landline telephone etc

At most if one has no wall plates to swap with ethernet able ones that cost a few bucks a cutout for one could be made

The cable is cheap and at the end that needed wifi you can connect a second router or just use ethernet cable

Then you can use the wps feature of your router and the device to input the network settings in to the tp link device

Then you plug the zecond device in the box that will eventually be in the area of weak or no wifi signal to an outlet on the same circuit and press pair similar to connecting a bluetooth device
