Pros & Cons
Pros
Tplink's mesh network is capable of 2gigabit service. Coverage is impressive for a 3500 sq ft house with 1gb service. For a small apartment as well, with possibly even just a router, the 2 unit system gives full coverage.
The wifi speed and stability are exceptional, making streaming, gaming, and video calls a lag-free experience. It is fast - not the fastest - that crown goes to the orbi.
The deco competes with the prior systems mentioned. Product works great. My coworker and i both exchange that system and got this one. I wish the deco had a usb port.
Downstairs our older iphones get about 400-600mbps. We get 600mbps+ downloads speed on our s20 phones using speedtest. Gb download and upload speed. Our wired vpn speed is now equal to my speed before when i didn't have a vpn running.
Cons
I really feel like i researched this detail before i ordered, but it bit me in the * looks like. I have to pay for return postage unless i select one of the upgraded return services with a quicker turnaround. The autosense is definitely the worst part... Read More
The co trolls for the deco routers seem much more limited than the other tplink lines. Disabled fast roam and the beam function. No downgrade option.
The modem and router failed to connect to the internet. Siri kept telling the user to reset the modem. When the reset failed, a red light appeared on the screen.

I have an old home with plaster walls i've had trouble for years with signal from my wifi.
I'veinstalled one system in my house and, approximately 3 other systems for business friends.
Price
Somewhat affordable and have been super stable, especially daisy chaining them with ethernet.
Not a huge deal to me, as when i am at home the vpn isn't that important, i use it more when i travel.
Competitiveness
I have had zero issues with these, much better than the equipment provided by my internet provider.
An example would be the deco units come in with firmware version 1.
