Pros

For around £260, this is a no-brainier investment if you suffer wifi deserts upstairs. Speeds are brilliant. I have one in each of the kids rooms so they can hard wire their consoles and one also at the end of a 60 foot garden and have never had any i...  Read More

Three weeks of solid performance (barring vm outage) confirms that i made the right decision. Super easy to install following downloaded app instructions.

Most bundles come with a master and slaves - that if you wish to add more * units starts to become an expensive solution. The only issue was with sky due to their use of a mesh network.

Tp-link deco m5 is a mesh wi-fi system. Set up as a mesh network in router mode (not ap) mesh works great for wifi on things like phones and tablets.

Cons

All of the units are exactly the same - there is no burly dedicated main router. If you ethernet every single deco together for backhaul, the whole system disconnects itself. The wifi signal in my house is now worse that it was with a singe router!

Deco m9 units should be plug and play. The app is self explanatory. One unit has a dimple on the top where the plastic seems to have over heated.

Backhaul negated this completely with the cheapo un-named switch i found at work.

Competitiveness

Even out 50mb bt line seems to be doing everything we need!

In the first house we backhauled (brilliant when possible, with a tp-link switch) one unit and the others connected via their d...  Read More

Wouldn't be without these now, have 5 throughout the house to hardwire devices directly to the internet.
