Pros & Cons
Pros
Set up was so much quicker and smoother than with the google router. The wireless only units are very sensitive to any obstacles – even when they are in rooms next door. If you have port overlap issues you can also do a macvlan in docker which should ... Read More
Tp-l uses qualcomm chipsets in their eaps, with ofdma support. My setup is this ap (eap 245) plugged into the tp-link tl-sg108pe | 8 port gigabit poe switch, and the tl-r605 router.
The mounting kit comes with multiple screw types for the mount plate. These are usually business access points but they were replacing ceiling mounted, poe boxes that were in the house before. Through the basement, up inside of a wall and across an at... Read More
The eap670 uses 4x4 mimo for the 5ghz radio. Can be powered from poe+ ethernet (easier installation), and only uses about 5-10w of power. Ghz band seems to be adequate enough for my iot devices.
Tp-link omada ap supports up to 1300 mbps at 5ghz. It has twice the range of my router wifi. As an wifi access point, it works great, and if you don't have pre-existing poe, you won't have any complaints. It comes with a compatible poe injector.
Cons
Poor product. Comes with their own proprietary poe inserter which doesn’t meet poe(+)(+) standards. Who has more than a month to wait on a *-poor managed company?
Ubiquity, netgear are two better that will blow tplink away. I pay tp-link $14.
Highlights
Quality
Once working, the network is solid and performs well.
Easy to install and great tech support.
In my old setup using all 225’s the device connections were pretty much split up evenly across the network.
I've been battling spotty wifi connections for years with my single wifi router stuck in a closet at the end of the house.
Price
This is my 3rd year using previous 2 ap and i must say for the price these are really goodand would recommend this over any con... Read More
These tp-link aps are a great cost effective mesh solution supporting up to 1300 mbps at 5 ghz.
Shipping
A couple of days later i had a few more questions and what was great i received a response back from lori from tp-link the same... Read More
Competitiveness
I mean, it seems to do just as well if not just a hair better than my $250 "gaming" router at home.
You really need both the oc200 and the er605 (or similar) to have any capability to see what is happening.
