The setup is a slight bit different because this is a bridge only modem as opposed to the netgear units being a router modem although it just meant i had to put my ppoe username password in my router instead of the modem

If your internet light is blinking red it does not necessarily mean you need a modem replacement

Come to find out it was a phone line problem outside my house
