Price
One of the cheapest money can buy.
Unfortunately a new power supply costs more than a whole new switch.
49 at time of purchase and at the time 1 gigabit switchs were fairly expensive.
Competitiveness
Unfortunately, isps are sneaky in using megabits and megabytes interchangeably as megabytes.

Any cheap gigabit switch will do or megabit switch if you come across one for less than a few quid esp if you have a very slow internet connection
