Highlights
Quality
If you are willing to avoid rf's exposure, you should start with the 4 ports of this same brand it is as good as this one!
I am very pleased with this device.
I bought another i was happy with product.
Note: sometimes product listing change and add new 'sizes' - this review is for the unmanaged gb 8 port desktop switch (tl-sg108).
Price
Had zero issues and the price is fair.
Packaging/appearance
It just works right out of the box, not much to config to do special.
Competitiveness
Bought as a replacement to my 100mbps port switch since i also upgraded my internet plan.
Holy smokes, i replaced a 10 year old d-link gig switch with this after running some cables to my office.
Works great, i have mine paired with pfsense router and a ubiquiti ap system.

I had some issues initially but it turned out to be because my router was configured for igmp v3 instead of v2 so if using this switch make sure your igmp querier on the router is configured for igmp v2 as the version of the tlsg108 8port switch i received does not support v3

Its disappointing that the material online does not make this clear

In fact the tplink site that used to support this model no longer references it so im rating tech support poorly only as a reflection of how difficult it was to find accurate online documentation

By mirroring the port to a second port i was able to run a wireshark analysis and determine that the device was in fact reaching out to an unknown server somewhere
