Pros & Cons
Pros
It has an excellent build quality and performs well. Each port performs flawlessly. Simple commercial-style case with a coarse grain pattern. Easily stackable and doesn't allow dust to cling.
Whether you're an expert in networking or looking to upgrade your home or office network, the tp-link tl-sg1005p is a solid choice that delivers power, performance, and peace of mind. It's also got tp-link's typical sturdy build.
The switch is silent, easy to set up and just works. Since this switch is fanless, it is absolutely silent in its operation. Good ventilation for it, nevertheless. No fan noise or power switching heat.
There are two toggles, which are your only options. The other toggle switch is a recovery mode to recognize issues with poe and reboot a switch. This switch is no exception.
Cons
The dc connector in the back is loose and allows the dc cord to fall out. Power cycling fixes it for a day or so. The warranty is a joke.
Tp-link tl-sg1005p v2 switch poe implementation killed them. It has a terrible failure mode where it simply starts dropping packets for 10 seconds or increasing latency to 400ms with 5% packet loss.
Highlights
Quality
Very happy wit these and the all metal build quality if high end.
• durable build: despite its small size, the build quality feels robust and reliable.
Connected the equipment, fired it up and and it started right up.
Here’s why this little device stands out:setup and design • plug and play: this switch requires zero configuration.

This is a great little switch for the price.

50/month per line instead of $320/line with at&t.
This switch might be the best bang for the buck for its price.
Shipping
Love amazon’s same day service, saved my life!
Competitiveness
I replaced a really expensive ubiquiti switch with this and it was a life saver.
I would have gone with an 'indoor' version of this if i could find one with the same capabilities for around the same price.
Instead of trying to find a cheap usb print server,i opted for a switch that would handle 10/100/1000.

Its under protected covering so no chance of rain or any dirt really getting on it but it is a hot summer and this is being pushed at the limits of its operating temp range
