Pros
Great for light-moderate cutting in closer spaces - grasses, blackberries, up to finger-thick * plants with no trouble. This blade is lightweight and has a balance i have dreamed of.
The bang for buck on this machete is outstanding. Love the company.
Cons
Poorly made. Needs to be sharpened. Once sharpened it starts to rust after washing. Loose handle manufacturing defect.

The quality is wayy better than what i expected.
Light and tough with the perfect sized wood handle.
We always used those long, cheap machetes with the black plastic handles that would chew up your hand until it was bloody and blistered.
Shipping
It was i think around 20 dollars for this little fellar after shipping and handling.

You need to be prepared to sharpen it out of the box.
Competitiveness
A file and some sand paper and it shaves hair like a champ.
I own other tramontinas and for under $10 this one is well worth it.
After getting that forward section taken care of, the entire edge was easy to get paper cutting sharp with a sharpmaker.
Bought another tramontina that is 12" long and it is my favorite between the two.

I have a similar blade which is too light and other blades that are too heavy or long

As others have stated edge is fairly sharp out to a couple inches short of the tip
