Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Tramontina is smaller in diameter than the 5 quart, so the bread is taller. It cooks really evenly and bread turns out great.

This pots shines in all aspects. It is heavy; the lid fits well; and the enamel inside and out is smooth and chip free. I have another, larger cast iron enameled pot and they are both great for cooking.

I have 4 larger le creuset and 2 smaller, but like mamma bear this one is just right. Excellently made, and just the right size for two (or three) mine is a 5.

Cons

Along with the ruining of the dutch ovens, one has to where has that enamel gone? The made in china tramontina is not anywhere near the quality of tramonina brazil or italy made. Very inexpensively made.

Quality

This one can also be used in conjunction with the larger one for more flexible food preparation.

She says it is excellent quality, she has already used it several times since late march, so it meets her needs.

I went with the red one as it's what they had in stock.

Price

Compare to lec brand for about 6x the price!

Competitiveness

It is a great substitute for the high end (only a chef can afford) model.

You can pay-more if you want a fancy french name, but it would not be better or maybe not as good as a tramontina!

Compares to le creuset at much lower price.
