The easiest way to describe it is to compare it to a set of good earbuds where with the stock beyer pads you would have the earbuds loose and with these pads you put the earbuds all the way in and they seal

One disappointment is that they are not made symmetrically

They are angled but there are no instructions to indicate which way they should be installed

However once you install them one side has the seam on top of the pad and other has the seam to the bottom
