I didnt have to do any work on my part to make her performance believable on the contrary i had to keep reminding myself that i was watching a woman playing a man transitioning into a woman and not a real transgender person

And not only did she make a convincing transgender person but she was also able to create an utterly unique and complex character who has distinguishing traits galore for example shes a stickler for grammar and spends a lot of the movie correcting her sons speech ultimately leaving the viewer with the impression that they are witnessing a reallife person

As for the rest of the film i found some parts to be not as believable the son doesnt really ask questions about anything thats going on and seems too compliant with the requests of a total stranger and her kooky family
