I love free books and the pressure of a hefty tbr pile, but this one is worth full price. This is a solidly written novel that's the first in a series. A gripping storyline of tension and deception.

Zachry wheeler offers up a deeply thought provoking tale of vampire noir that is any but cliche. Other than that nuisance, it is a good book.

The concepts behind the story are truely epic. Vey interesting story.

I recommend transient to all lovers of urban fantasy, ya dystopias, and preternatural suspense. The world-building that zachary does for transient is just amazing. Looking forward to more from zachry wheeler.

As with wheelers other work, max and the multiverse, i could not put this book down.

Technically it does have "vampires" but it is completely different from other vampire novels.
