Pros & Cons
Pros
The firmware is very useful and easy to understand, without having tons of unnecessary and confusing options. The user interface is very stable and intuitive. Very easy to configure.
Cons
The trendnet ac3000 looks good on paper, but the overall implementation leaves much to be desired. Even after giving up using it as a router, i cannot salvage it to use as a wi-fi access point. I'm sure the wi-fi features are impressive, but that's no... Read More

Competitiveness
Setup and programming the trendnet was far easier than any other router i have setup.
Super fast compared to my older router.
Imo it is a similar feature to the trendmicro offering that's included with many asus routers, and some tp-link routers.
If a futuristic or cool looking router is your priority get the other brand, if you want speed and reliability get trendnet.

This is the third router we tried and the first one where failover actually worked correctly

Our first purchase was a fortinet
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Once we had the fortinet configured and started testing failover it ran a firmware update that disabled the failover setting and told us we had to purchase a 270month license to continue using failover

The second purchase was a linksys failover router
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Once i initialized the router and started configuring the failover settings we discovered linksys routers only support failover to a 4g or 5g signal cell phone hotspot
