It is easy to turn off the light which lights up the entire top portion of the device by turning it on with one click and then holding the same button for a second click until the light goes off

Overall i think this is a great product it is durable since 2012 we moved three times across the united states so the unit saw a lot of vibration and and movement around and it still works without any issues it humidifies the air effectively the water vapors are dispersed into the air instead of falling back to the floor and creating wet spots around the humidifier as the other brand humidifier that we have

The humio is not a diffuser so it is not specifically made to have oils directly on the water and will cause damage to the parts
