Pros & Cons
Pros
This blender is noticeably more powerful than my oster blender from costco. It has ample power to crank through ice and harder ingredients. It's pricey, but at the same time, you're buying the ferrari of personal blenders.
This blender works well for blending liquids. It can be used as a blending jar by attaching the blade mechanism to the top of the cup and then to the blending base. Makes for a quick smoothie or other beverage without having to us the main jar. Vacuum... Read More
The 5001-a comes with three glass a tall travel mug with a travel lid and a sturdy handle. The three different sized glasses are all a great size. I like this personal blender and i stress it is a small personal sized blender.
Everything feels solid and hefty and well made. Easy to use - the dial on front is designed with ease of use in mind. Only question is durability.
Glass jars seem to be very durable. Good quality silicone seal. Lids are the same size and will fit any of the jars.
Cons
Blending power is very weak, vacuum design is flawed and motor/blade overheats way too fast. The idea is good but the execution is poor. Not worth the money. This blender is garbage.
Highlights
Quality
The motor works great and when put to the test to blend my morning frozen smoothies or even make at home powdered sugar, it did... Read More
A very nice, well-made, and sturdy product that should provide years of use.
Seriously, the base section does not exude quality at all.
There is a stainless scoop to stir things around and the blade assembly is all stainless.
Price
(4 stars due to price, but if you're a serious blender user, worth every penny).
It honestly feels like the base on blenders that i've paid under $30 for.
The bottom line is that i like it (four stars), but i would never pay the current (as i write this) price of over $300 for it.
Yes it’s pricey, but i think it will last a long time and is exactly what i needed for blending on the go.
Packaging/appearance
The 5001-a comes with a large 42-ounce glass container, as well as a convenient 16-ounce container for smoothies and such.
I'm going to universal for a week for vacation and i'm packing this blender to keep in my hotel room.
But on the other hand, it's kind of heavy for packing around if you want to take it to work or the gym.
All containers come with lids as well, with silicone liners so no plastic touching the contents.
Competitiveness
This blender is much better in both appearance and performance than the bullett and ninja blenders i have used in the past.
The blade assembly is also so very easy to clean compared to the nutribullet.
It doesn't compare to the vitamix with blending harder items though.
67 hp which is equivalent to 500w - a bit weaker than a classic nutribullet, but somewhat similar since the blending jars on th... Read More
