Pros & Cons
Pros
Make soy milk and nut milk with ease. Packaging of dry soybeans is far more environmentally friendly than the quart containers of milk i previously purchased. I make a quart of vanilla soy milk every week.
Cleaning the pot is a bit easier after soaking in hot water. The strainer takes a bit of time to scrub down.
It's a wonderful grinder. It's really cleverly designed and works very well. It is so yummy and taste a bit like a mild custard.
Makes cashew and almond milk by just grinding and then pouring. Soak the beans in boiling water for at least 4 hours. Rub and pinch the beans to remove the skins.
One load of milk makes ~ 1/2 cup of the regular tofu or much more silken tofu (which i have not perfected yet) if i could do it again, i would buy one that made more milk because that would cut my cleanup and prep time in half.
Cons
No amount of scrubbing or soaking or anything removes the protein build-up. After a few uses it falls out during the grind because of the pressure of the grind.
Original vitamix 3600 either comes doa or will service for may be 4 months before the rotor blade is detached from the motor. Company tribest has no intention to honor the warranty. Where is my refund?
Terribly disappointing. Totally disappointed. Not a good thing on a saturday morning. Save yourself a headache and don't buy this.
